Pros - Room was immaculate, and stylish. - Location was right next to King Street (heart of downtown). - This hotel accepts the Amex bi-annual fine resorts and hotels credit. - Bar and Restaurant downstairs serves such elegant and classy food. They will pack your food in to-go containers if you ask for it. - Front desk staff are amazing and helpful for their guests. - They have baby cribs available upon request. - Were able to upgrade our room because of a perk with our Amex card. Cons - Do not recommend staying here if you have kids, the room is for lovers, not your loved ones. The bathroom glass is nearly see through. - Valet is on the expensive side at 45$ a night. Alternatively, there isn't an immediate better solution upon arriving to the hotel. - Hotel staff will direct you to the gym if you ask for water, was hoping they'd have bottled waters available. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. This was a different style of hotel than were used to as a family, especially as a family of four. We were extremely impressed that they had a baby crib upon request! Not many other hotels we've been to have had this amenity available. We couldn't resist taking pictures of the inside of our room because of how stunning it was. I'll refrain from posting those pictures on this review since there pictures available on their website. Everyone we interacted with at the hotel always pleasent, from the staff to other guests. Walking down King Street, we encountered carolers, we thought this belonged in the movies, but to see it in real life made this stay feel truly magical!

Visited to experience the Hilton takeover and see what they had to offer compared to the other big brand competition nearby. Can honestly say that the rooms while very modest in size are very elevated. Comfortable and clean all the way around. The branding was absolutely on point from the wallpaper to all the extra touches in the room and we loved the continuity of the herons everywhere. The bathroom felt luxurious and the top floor offers higher ceilings which adds to that feeling of grandeur. While there aren't many views to offer in Alexandria from most hotels they do actually have a few nice vantage points to take in the historical surroundings. You feel the history of the 100+ year old building but it's dressed as modern as can be. They have a better location than most other hotels in the area if you want to restaurant hop. On the negative as a loyal Hilton diamond member... We were celebrating a Birthday during our stay which was noted and acknowledged at the desk, but nothing was offered in the room not at check-in to make the birthday girl feel special. Odd for this brand of hotel and what we are accustomed to receiving. Not even a simple note. Same for the upgrade, we were charged to select a "deluxe" room which is just on a higher floor of the just 5 story building. As a diamond member we frequently receive suite upgrades at no charge as one of our benefits. It's worth noting as of winter 2026 they do not have any suites in the hotel on offer if you need more square footage. Most upsetting is the Hilton app advertised both free breakfast and a $30 credit for members, I shared this with the desk agents but they shared it was an error with the new takeover. In the morning the front desk agent that I shared my disappointment with offered to add an additional $30 credit towards our bill for the misinformation on the app, but that unfortunately didn't happen and was an empty promise upon checkout with no folio adjustment made. We would like to return and enjoyed our stay overall, but hopefully our status and loyalty will be acknowledged and bill adjusted accurately if we have a future visit.

Hotel Heron is a beautiful property, and our experience there was exceptional. The rooms were spotless, and the location was perfect—within easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. My cousin and I flew in for a funeral, and during a very difficult time, the kindness of the staff made a meaningful difference. The front desk team, especially Ismael and Lenenor, went above and beyond by checking us in early and truly pampering us with care and compassion throughout our stay. I would absolutely recommend Hotel Heron and look forward to staying there again in the future.

Went for a girls’ trip and had the best experience! The rooms were spotless, beautifully decorated, and surprisingly quiet—we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. Each room was stocked with fun extras beyond the usual water bottles, which made it feel special (honestly, I had a Kevin McCallister at The Plaza moment). I had originally booked two rooms with two queen beds, but when that setup wasn’t available, the hotel went above and beyond—they comped us a third room before we even arrived. That level of service is so rare these days and really impressed me. The rooftop was a perfect spot to hang out—laid-back atmosphere, great cocktails, and stunning views. I’ll definitely be back!

Great location. Little difficult parking. Room was immaculate aside from pillows which had a subtle scent to me. Everything looked clean. Fairly certain they offered self park on booking.com but when we arrived, it was valet only. $45 for overnight valet wasn't horrendous and ended up being convenient. We walked to everything since it's right in the middle.

Wonderful hotel, in a great location close to public transport links and harbour. Rooms are exceptionally well maintained and staff are very helpful. The onsite restaurant on the ground floor is very good with attentive and helpful staff on all shifts. I had an issue with servicing room one day, and the hotel were proactive and to rectify and resolve issues. The attentive nature of staff was appreciated. I would recommend others to stay here, it is a very pleasant place both stylistically and in terms of attention.
